Why Control Your Data

Why Control Your Data

It is really important for every business to consider the potential risks that could be exposed from the data stored in your mobile phones. In many cases this is probably minimal, however for some industries this could be damaging. We have found that the key to eliminating most security issues is to implement an end-of-life mobile phone policy which allows you to know your risks and manage your data before a problem arises.

Our customers recognise the need for " life-cycle-thinking " to know who is using the phones, what its being used for and a policy to establish what happens when a phone is broken, lost, changed or upgraded.

A few simple questions

  • Who uses the phones?
  • What information do they store?
  • Can you access company confidential documents?
  • Emails?
  • What use could the data be?
  • Mobile banking information?
  • Photos?
  • Social Networking?

A typical mobile phone is capable of storing up to 1 GB of data. Many can store up to 32 GB using a memory card which can be equivalent to a laptop.
