WEEE are working together
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is a European law designed to encourage and regulate the collection, reuse, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
The regulations came into force on 1st July 2007, which now means all mobile phones are fully classed as WEEE and need to be reused and recycled in a responsible and compliant way. As a dedicated mobile phone recycler, EMC has been approved by the Environment Agency as an authorised and licensed treatment facility (AATF), which means our customers are able to recycle their mobile phones in the knowledge that they are fully compliant with all European WEEE waste recycling regulations.
These objectives have shaped our service from the beginning, which means we can continue to offer our customers effective recycling solutions while fulfilling the requirements of the WEEE regulations.
